Specially designed self-adhesive peel-off films are therefore widely used for this purpose. These need to have very good wetting characteristics to enable them to stick to even hard-to-wet surfaces such as hard plastics and tempered glass. Their peel strength must also be stable and they must resist aging across a wide range of temperatures. On top of that, these protective films must not leave any residues behind when removed. For display screens, these films must be transparent and colorless.
