In release coatings, silicone formulations are used for coating on a substrate, such as paper, film, or foil, to make a coating with properties that allow the release of adhesives or inherently sticky materials. This is known as a silicone release liner. The use of these silicone materials is typically within the paper, printing or converting industries. There is a general use of standard terms within these industries but on some occasions these can be unique to Silicone Release Applications.
